As of January 1, 2026, updated California Energy Code (Title 24) and CALGreen (Part 11) standards are in effect. Optimal handles every permit, inspection, and code requirement through San Diego's Development Services Department — you never deal with city bureaucracy directly.
Water Conservation (2026)
All new toilets must meet EPA WaterSense certification, capped at 1.28 gallons per flush. Showerheads must not exceed 1.8 gallons per minute under the 2026 standards.
Lighting Mandates (Title 24)
Bathroom lighting must be high-efficacy LED, controlled by a vacancy sensor (manual-on, auto-off). Standard switch-controlled lighting no longer meets 2026 compliance requirements.
